The charismatic persona of Parisien runway has been fusing art with fashion for more than 30 years. His work extends far beyond the realm of clothes, shoes and accessories and includes home furnishings and works of art. A pioneer of the avant-garde, the French designer's work celebrates colour and childhood and has won him fans from Madonna to Pope John Paul II. Besides his work as a designer, Castelbajac is also a conceptual painter, has written a book and composed a song. 2009 is an important milestone for JCDC, as this year sees the grand launch of his first ever watch collection – JCDC POP HOURS.

The debut collection is a crossover with SDD99 Link, but the linking units are marvelously transformed and adopted the shape of the building bricks from your childhood toy. There are a total of six styles for the collection. Apart from the all-time-favourites black and white, the other four styles come in the bright colours of green, blue, yellow and red. These four hues are brilliantly mixed and clashed in the straps, clasp as well as the case, unifying with JCDC’s playful and bold style of his apparel collection.

The packing is especially designed to complement JCDC’s fun and playful style, taking the form of another classic – the Rubik’s cube – with its bright and colourful exterior. The packing box has two doors that open outward, resembling a little closet, where you can store your new watch or other small items as you find fit. This crossover collaboration will be one of its kind for both high fashion and trendy watch, and a much sought after item for fans of JCDC and odm.
